Peta Cross (b. 1961) grew up in North West Tasmania. She studied Arts and Nursing in Hobart before completing a Bachelor of Fine Arts at the Victorian College of the Arts in 1992. Her work is in both private and corporate collections , including two purchases by the National Gallery of Victoria. Small paintings about death is her third solo show. Peta lives in Melbourne with her husband and two children.
